**MATERNAL FANTASIES’ The First Supper series of participative workshops**

Tavros Solidarity School, Athens, Greece, November 2024

The workshop was conducted by Mikala Hyldig Dal & Magdalena Kallenberger (MATERNAL FANTASIES) in collaboration with women (and their children) from Tavros Solidarity School, Eva Giannakopoulou (artist) and Manto Psarelli (TAVROS Art Space)

Inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s painting The Last Supper, MATERNAL FANTASIES and the participants reinterpret the image in a tableau vivant featuring women, children, and fantastical creatures in a celebration of life and connection across generations. To temporarily expand this colorful community, all participants are invited to “bring along” a real or fictional person from the past, present, or future with whom they have a special and formative connection in the form of a short anecdote and an object that reminds them of this person and could be incorporated into The First Supper scene.

The final performance in tableaux vivant style will be captured on camera and video and incorporated into the serial photo/video work of the artist group MATERNAL FANTASIES.
